Like anyone, I get spam in my email inbox, but lately the spam filters and have become pretty good at hiding almost all of that from me.
But if you want to get some spam, start a blog.
I only started this blog about three weeks ago. Within a few days I had my first spam posted in comment box. Within a few days it had turned into a flood; in the past 24 hours I’ve received over 20 spam messages.
I link to these posts from LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook, and get comments, likes and shares through those. But on the blog alone over 95% of “comments” are spam.
And they’re so creative and well written. Here are just a few samples:

Apparently the purpose of the spam is the links they also put into their messages, and in their email addresses/identities, so that more external links will point to their spammy sites and help them get higher search rankings.
What a boring life these spammers must lead.
So initially I switched from open commenting to moderated comments. I guess it’s time for captcha.
